Beginner Aerial Hoop
Service Description
Aerial Hoop (also known as lyra) class involves a combination of strength, flexibility, and artistry as participants perform acrobatic maneuvers on a suspended hoop. The class typically blends elements of aerial arts, circus, and dance. The content of an aerial hoop class can vary based on the instructor, the level of participants, and the focus of the class. Here's what's commonly included in an aerial hoop class: Warm-Up: The class usually begins with a warm-up session that includes light cardiovascular exercises, dynamic stretches, and mobility movements to prepare the body for the physical demands of aerial work. Aerial Technique and Instruction: The core of the class involves instruction on aerial hoop techniques. Participants learn how to mount the hoop, hold various grips, perform spins, transitions, and execute poses while suspended. Classes are tailored to various skill levels. Instructors provide progressions and modifications to accommodate beginners and challenge more advanced participants. Safety is paramount in aerial hoop. Instructors teach participants spotting techniques and emphasize proper body alignment to prevent injuries. Participants learn how to safely exit the hoop and ground themselves. Tricks and Sequences: Participants will learn a range of aerial hoop tricks and combinations. This can include poses, hangs, rolls, and dynamic movements. The instructor will guide participants on how to flow smoothly between different tricks and create sequences. Flexibility Training: Aerial artists benefit from flexibility, so classes often include stretching exercises to improve flexibility in the shoulders, hips, back, and legs. These stretches enhance range of motion and help prevent injuries. Artistry and Choreography: Aerial hoop classes often incorporate artistic expression and dance elements. Participants learn how to combine tricks and poses into elegant routines that showcase their individual style. Cool-Down: Similar to the warm-up, the class concludes with a cool-down session involving gentle stretches to promote flexibility and reduce muscle tension. Classes are suitable for adults (16+)
